K-A-M-R-Y-N and Straight A's

It's been a big week for us this week.

Blake got straight A's for the first time. We could not be more proud of him!!!!

And, Kamryn has been walking around so proud because she knows how to spell her name now. "K-A-M-R-Y-N spells Kamryn."

Sometimes it's nice to grade the week by how well we do at work, how many houses we sold or new clients we brought in, but to grade the week by these great feats in our kids lives.

We are so thankful for all of our blessings in these difficult times.

Mom & Dad...Meet the Sleep Fairy

Hello Everyone:

All of us are well and keeping busy. I wanted to share our recent experience with you regarding the sleep fairy. Kamryn came home from school one day all excited to show me some little toy she got from the sleep fairy. The who? There was never a sleep fairy when I was growing up...LOL At school they like to reward the kids for cleaning up, taking naps, etc. So, here we are with the dilemma, do we invite the sleep fairy into our house? It has been a work in progress with getting her to go to sleep in her bed and remain there. She has been doing good with it but we thought the sleep fairy might help progress her along. Now each night she gets her bath and stories, T gets in bed with her and Felix gets a pillow on the floor and she has her lamp on for light and then it's time to sleep. As most kids do she sometimes stalls with wanting to go potty but we are very proud at how she is doing. The sleep fairy makes random appearances and leaves her special things on the dining room table. Hopefully once she is more used to her sleep routine the sleep fairy can bow out but by that time we might have the tooth fairy coming to take her place. Oh well! If I could only figure out a way to get her excited about the Food fairy...So far no luck!

Until next time, hope you all are doing well.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

This past weekend I celebrated my 35th birthday! The week leading up to it Kamryn was so excited she was going to help me blow out my birthday candles. Everywhere we went she told random people it was my birthday.

I ended up having a wonderful birthday in which we went out to dinner with some friends one night and spent the next day with Kamryn at the mall, going to lunch and ending with dinner at home where Kent cooked a delicious dinner for me.

My birthday cake was cheesecake with strawberries on it. When Kamryn saw the cake she was mad at her Dad for getting that one because her idea of a birthday cake is one with icing. She LOVES putting her fingers in the cake and the icing is her favorite part. However, despite the difference she still ate some.

I have included a couple of pictures of cake time and one of the picture Kamryn made for me at school. Hope you all are doing well!

The Buzz on Blake

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to dedicate a blog just for Blake to let everyone know what he has been up to and see what a great young man he is turning out to be. Blake goes to Hernando High School in Mississippi and just started his Sophomore year which we can hardly believe. Not to mention he is driving also! He just has his permit but will be eligible for his license in February. Progress reports just came out in school and so far all A's and 1 B!
Blake is back to playing baseball for his high school which he loves. When he is not playing baseball he is hanging out with his friends, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, updating his my space page and text messaging his friends.
In July we took a family vacation to celebrate Becky and Luther's 30th wedding anniversary where Blake brought his friend Tucker along. We all had a great time and of course Kamryn loved having her big brother around. She fondly refers to him as Blakey. Blake is so good with her and she adores him.
Until next time.....

Tico the fish

Recently I went to Colombia with my best friend Julie to help her select an island wedding spot with her fiance Luis. Kent graciously took my role as "mom" while I was away. Their days were spent with lots of hanging out and watching football which Kamryn really enjoys. One day Kent took Kamryn to the pet store to pick out a fish. She chose a red Beta fish which she named Tico. I thought what a cute name. Kent gave her a bunch of choices and that is the one she picked. For those of you who don't know Tico is the purple squirrel on Dora the Explorer, one of Kami's favorite shows. Anyway, thought I would post a picture of Tico so you all can see. She knows that you can't tap on the glass of the tank because that sounds like thunder to the fish and if you feed him too much he will die and go to heaven. So cute, what it would be like to be 3 years old again. Chat with you all later. Have a great weekend.
